Change Your Surroundings
It can be really hard to regain control when your emotions are busting through the seams and about to fully possess you. While the combinations of getting out of this predicament can be different for each individual. There are some ways that you can try.
Get yourself out of that raging fire
Distance yourself from the situation
Curse like a sailor while you are storming off
Arm yourself with a super soaker (water gun, Squirtle, etc.)
When you're ready, smother those flames like a boss
Take Care of Yourself
It takes a lot of energy to combat your raging emotions. And you can't keep fighting if you don't make upkeep your mind and body.
Drink water so you can replenish the tear reservoir
Gobble something delicious. Most would say healthy (preferred), but if a quadruple scoop ice cream sundae with crushed Oreos and sprinkles and chopped berries of sorts are what's going to help you---then do it. We can run that off later.
After that sweaty run, jog, walk, crawl. Enjoy a nice warm shower. Or cold if that's your thing.
Binge on cute animal videos
Take a nap
All this can be done in no particular order, whatever makes sense to you in your situation.
